E-Book

This week, we started our class by being shown on the sample of e-book that has been done by Pn Foziah herself. We were shown and told how an e-book should be looked like. We were told to be careful and be more selective in the pictures that we are going to use in our e-book as it should attract the pupils’ attentions as well as initiate their interest in reading it. we were also remind on some of the aspects as stated below:

For e-book, there must be:

1) a theme to the story.
2) setting (time and place)
3) plot that shows the conflict, climax and resolution
4) characterization
5) navigational tools to make sure the slides can work properly (can go to next slide and previous slide)
6) pictures must be clear cut and colourful, no different shades or shadows.
7) sound to accompany the e-book reading.

This is to ensure that we would be able to produce a useful and interesting e-book in delivering the messages effectively to the pupils. To make it more interesting, my partner and I have also do some animations on the pictures, sound effect and sound recording to make the story more realistic. For this, children can click on the slides one by one according to their reading speed.

Besides, we were also shown on how to do videos and were introduced to some softwares that we can use in creating a movie. We were too, given extra module 2 which are much more challenging and complicated than the one we have did before this.

Picture Editing

Hi, everyone.

Here comes another week reflection.
Well, today as usual we attended our class.
We were first shown by Pn Foziah on the tutorial on how we can edit the pictures perfectly. I was totally amazed and can see the hard effort paid behind the scene by the picture editor. And realised the powerful of photoshop software. As picture tells a thousand word, we can actually use a picture to portray our thinking without having us saying out our thoughts. Amazing, right?
Well, it seems to be easy in editing one picture. However, Please do bear in mind that editing a good and prefect picture is not easy either. We have to be really creative as well as innovative.
We were then asked to edit one picture of our own in order to bring the picture's message clearly and then upload in the assigned photobucket account. For me, I have chosen the theme of 'Helping Hand' where i combined all the four pictures together in a collage layout.


Hopefully, this can bring out the intended message clearly to the viewer and too, persuade them to lend their helping hand to those who needed in the natural disaster such as earthquake, tsunami, war etc.

I believe LOVE is around us. I believe LOVE is always in our heart.
Therefore, I think this picture is good to bring out LOVE to everyone..

Audio Editing

Today is the day that we have to submit our assignment 2 (teaching aids) and assignment 3 (Lesson Planning). It was quite a relief as finally we have finished on our assignments. Although it was quite a lot as they were given to us at one time, we were able to complete it on time as well as learn something that is useful by using different types of resources that can be found from the internet. I believe that would be great experiences for all of us, isn't it?



Besides that, we were given time to continue on our module 2 on Photoshop cs 3 that was given last week. I found photoshop cs 3 to be really useful as we can also used them in our daily life when we want to edit on our own pictures. I would say that it is a good learning experiences for all of us as I believe we would find it very useful in our future life.


Well, that's not the end of the day as we are given three tasks to do.
Task 1: Edit a song into ringtone
Task 2: Blending two songs together
Task 3: Edit the given song into a better quality (without any interruptions in between)
Again, I found this to be very interesting as I felt to be very contented when I have finished editing each song (although it was tiring as 100% attention is needed)

Have to be very meticulous and careful in editing the song as some of the lyric or tune might just be cut off if we are not careful enough. As a result, we might have to redo everything.
Anyway, I would say that this is a good experience for us, as future teacher as we can always cut the unwanted lyric and the tune off in order to adapt the song into a suitability of the students' learning context or local context. I believe these would be very useful.

Module 2

Here comes week 9 reflection

Today, we were given module 2 by Haikal.

Well, we are ready for that but what shocked us was what he said next.

He said that all of us are required to complete module 2 by this week.

Oh my goodness, ONE WEEK? We are only given one week to do it??

We looked at one another and stare at the thickness of module 2.

Pray hard in our heart that we are able to compete it on time.

When he saw us having that blur, worry, and sad face, he assure that it is a must, reminding that we should not waste too much of time worrying.

Instead, we should start working now as module 4 and module 5 is coming in next week and we are only given one week to do each module.

Anyway, I do enjoy doing module 2 as it involves using photoshop cs3 which is very pratical to all of us that we can too, use this software in our daily life whenever we want to edit our photo.

Well, do not waste too much of time thinking and worrying, we shall start on our module 2 immediately.

As a saying goes, “Nothing is impossible in this world.”

Trust yourselves and you can do it. Cheer Up!

Time for Action

Wow... here comes another week.
what does that mean?
well, it's simple enough.
It means that reflection has to be updated again.
Hmm...what can I say about this week? Basically we were just asked to continue on our work for module 1. Time is really constraint. Without wasting any time, all of us (I dare say) took out our own laptop immediately once we entered the laboratory and start doing work quietly.
Yes, you do not see wrongly, is IMMEDIATELY...Amazing, right?

I was quite shocked too because all of us brought our laptop simultaneously without any requests from Pn Foziah...
That's a good sign, right? All of us were working so attentively on our module.
Besides, the spirit of cooperation can also be seen among all of us especially when one of us encounter certain problems in doing the module, we will always be attended by friends who know how to do it... Thanks to those friends who have helped me a lot in this module... Really appreciate a lot.
No doubt that this module is a kind of 'forcing' and keep 'reminding' us that time is NOT enough.

However, it has also taught us on a lot of things on how to convert the documents from one form to another form, how to search for certain softwares, how to burn cds etc.


I believe these will be very useful in our future life not only in education field but for other usage as well.
It is great, isn't?

Module 1

Well, time to write reflection again.

What should I say about this week’s lesson? Hahaha..

Our nightmare has come- our great MODULE 1.

This is a very handful work for us to do. We were given a big stack of module which is one of our assignments. The BIG problem is we were only given two weeks to complete it. Oh my goodness! I nearly faint when I heard this. I even ask Puan Foziah one more time if I have heard wrongly. Unfortunately, it was not a mistake. By hook or by crook, we must MUST complete it in two weeks time. How wish that I have more than 24 hours in a day. However, reality is always the cruel one.

That’s not the end of the module yet as we will still have more modules waiting for us at the back. Modules modules and modules. We have to sit there and look at our laptop all the time in order to finish up our module. However, it is too, a good experience for us to be exposed to a variety of softwares as we are given the steps on how to download the particular softwares and programs. From the module, I have learned how to download videos from youtube by using different types of software. Well, I have to go now.. lack of time in doing the module and was really worried that I cannot complete it on time. So see you next week. Hoping to see good news next week.

Technology and Learning

This week, we entered our class as usual and as usual we are given a task. For this particular task, we have to come out, design or search for the variety types of teaching aids that can be used in teaching the young children by using TECHNOLOGY. In order words, we have to find the teaching aids from internet. To do this, we need an ample of time to be ready in front of the laptop for a many many many “FEW” of hours in LOOKING for the suitable teaching materials according to the topic that we are going to teach the children for the lesson.

First of all, we were asked to find our partner which is of the opposite sex (as Pn. Foziah did not believe in boys’ production). Therefore, we were grouped by one boy and one girl. (Noted: There is only two persons in one group). Pn Foziah then assigned us the topics that we need to prepare for the teaching aids. Each group is assigned with three topics and my group has been assigned for the year 4, 5 and 6 which are on the topic of “Moving around”, “Glorious Food” and finally “Splashes of colour”. When I first look at the topic, that’s a big challenge for me and my partner, many thoughts came across our mind. "MOVING AROUND"? Is it about traveling to places or talking about transportation that move around? Alright, move to the second topic, "GLORIOUS FOOD"? From what we comprehended, glorious food means glory but wouldn’t it be weird if we apply on food? Haha…. Sounds funny right? Last but not least, the greatest challenge for both of us, "SPLASHES OF COLOUR"… sounds really fantastic. Teaching colour to kindergarten children is a piece of cake BUT NOT to the year 6 children. They are already well-equipped with the knowledge of colours. How can we make the lesson more interesting and effective when we teach the year 6 children on the topic of colour? That is a really GOOD question to be pondered on.



Coming out with these teaching aids are indeed a handful of work. It is not as easy as we imagine. We have to be really resourceful (as what this course is named) in searching for the suitable materials to be used for the particular topic. For this, we have to explore the world of internet by going in different websites to look for the materials such as flash games, flash cards, power point presentation, songs, videos etc. I shall say these are all quite challenging and tedious task to be done as we have to submit on this coming Thursday. However, what makes my life more miserable is that I lost all my work and internet teaching materials that have been collected out of a sudden when I was almost finishing my final work. All the documents just disappeared like that in front of me. I was really clueless and helpless. However, for this part, I must say I was quite thankful as my partner has helped a lot by doing more work in completing the task. Thanks a lot to him for being always supportive and tolerant with me in everything and whatever I did.
